Westchurch
We are Westchurch, an informal and welcoming community church in Christchurch.
We operate without a traditional minister or hierarchy, meaning our church body governs itself with guidance from our elected elders.
Our Beliefs & Teaching: We love the Bible to show us how to know, follow, celebrate and share Christ (Jesus). We are always ready to struggle with difficult questions. Our teachers are often our own gifted, church members.
Our Structure & Community: We don't have a formal membership—you belong simply by coming.
Our Gatherings: We meet in a school hall on Sundays and host various styles of Sunday service, including brunch, teaching and worship. We also meet in home groups and prayer groups. There is an active children's program.
Our Affiliations: We are linked with CCCNZ and run joint ministries with local Anglican, Baptist, and Presbyterian churches.
At the moment, we are actively seeking young families to join us and strengthen our existing children's work.

BRUNCH Sundays
Join us to enjoy food, drink, fun, talk and great company on the 1st Sunday of the month*.
Our monthly* brunch is unlike any Sunday church service you might imagine. It is a light brunch and fun for families and friends!
We hope you can come along and enjoy our friendly company, good food, coffee and a very short, thought-provoking, talk.
The Brunch service is ideal for anyone a bit reluctant to visit a 'church' ... they will find it easy to 'fit in'.
Other Sundays

Naturally we'd love to have you join us on other Sundays.
On the 4th Sundays of the month* we have a more musical service - a traditional 'Worship' service with lots of singing.
Other Sundays we'll be sitting around tables and participating in Biblical teaching, prayer and communion.
On the rare 5th Sundays in a month, it could be something completely different!
* This is the usual pattern for Sundays, but sometimes changed.
